Safari Lodges
The Daft Idea
It was an african adventure that gave us the idea for African Safari Lodges at Pentre Mawr. It came to us during a thunder storm while we were staying in a luxury canvas lodge on a game farm in the Karoo, South Africa. Graham happened to mention that the weather was a lot like Wales, and we had a eureka moment.

This part of North Wales is really beautiful, but not well known, and we were looking for something different to put us on the map. Pentre Mawr can’t offer wild animals (though the occasional Shetland Pony may cross your path!), but in order to compensate, each lodge has its own private hot tub. They are let on a minimum two-night stay and are the ultimate in luxury. As Bre says “just posh bedrooms with canvas walls”. For more information please drop us an email.
Setting the Scene
Everyone these days knows what glamping is all about, but here at Pentre Mawr we take it to another level. Imagine checking into your very own canvas hotel suite, complete with a private hot tub.
You can relax in your own sitting room with big sofa, whilst your Nespresso coffee machine is making you the perfect cup of coffee. Enjoy your hospitality area with all of the little things you’d expect.
Then wander out to your secluded terrace and hop into your private hot tub. Don’t worry we’ll have it hot and ready to go! The sound of our little mini Shetlands wandering around the lodges will make you imagine there are lions patrolling the area and an early call of the fox could be a hyena in the distance!
When you’re all relaxed, you can finish your evening in your free standing bath or rain shower.
Fall into your huge super king size or four poster bed, to have that well earned rest. This is what a Pentre Mawr Safari Lodge is all about.
The Tents
Please note that all tents come with either a four-poster bed or a king-sized bed and therefore hold two adults. Tents 1 and 4 also have a sofa-bed and so can fit two adults and two children.
